[OBDF 110] Mesh Mashup: Selection and Refinement (Definitely Not POTW)

Greetings, for the third assignment, we are instructed to choose one concept from the previous assignment and refine the design using Meshmixer.

"Play Me a Love Song"

I chose this concept because it won the vote during our peer to peer critique session. This is my rose and trumpet mashup. All three of my critics liked the name, "Love Song" I gave on Tinkercad. I think it's somewhat poetic. I explained to one of my critics how I initially planned to use a petunia instead of the rose as it better represent the shape of a trumpet's bell. I told him I could not find a model on Tinkercad and that is the reason I went with a rose. He suggested using a lily could also work with this idea which I agreed with. Other examples that follow this remix theme includes a tulip, or a poppy which can symbolize the "Last Post" trumpet call.

My creation relates to Remix Culture in three ways. Firstly, it is a remix as it appropriates two existing objects. Secondly, my concept combines two different ideas to form a new one. The third way is the use of juxtaposition. By merging a trumpet with a rose, my mashup has created a relationship between love and music.

Here are some screenshots of the original objects I used from Thingiverse:
